For Starters, Sorry for the Lack of Updates
Been Working on Some Things
As some of you know, Photography is not my primary job, and my regular job has been requiring my attention quite a bit more these past few months. When I haven't been working at my 9 to 5, I've been working on home scanning my negatives. Over Christmas, a colleague gave me her father's old cameras, a Canon T3i with a couple of Macro lenses, and a Yashica FX-2 35mm film camera. I've been mostly working on utilizing those cameras into my rotation, and they have definitely proven their utility.
Scanning My Negatives
So one method of home scanning is doing DSLR photo scans, which requires laying your negatives out on a light table, and setting your digital camera up on a tripod to get digital negatives that can be processed through Lightroom & Photoshop. I'll go more into that in a later post. This process has taken me a while, since I have little ones that like to play with Dad's things, eventually I'll do a comparison post showing the differences between the lab scan and the camera scan, which has really peaked my curiosity on how worth it this process is. We shall see.
Collaboration Projects
I have also been trying to work my calendar out to shoot Creative Collaboration projects with Models again. 2024 was a year I focused on learning how to take photos on film, and now I'm ready to expand my portfolio and get back into a realm I was good at. There are a few projects I'm currently working here in the Brazos Valley, and I have to say I'm excited to get back out there again.
Bringing Back Some Projects
I learned years ago that in order to build wealth, you need multiple streams of income, so when one market goes lean, the others can pick up the slack. I have several market streams I'm building back up, one of them being Cybernaut Apparel. If you don't know what Cybernaut is, it's my sci-fi inspired clothing brand that I currently have on Design By Humans. I will keep working on some new design ideas for the brand, and if you have suggestions, don't hesitate to let me know.
Photographer for Hire
That being said, I am still booking clients for 2025, I've been doing Grad Portraits, Family Portraits and Weddings for years, and would love to get to know you and photograph your special day. Fill out the form below so I can get to know you.
The End
Thank you for making it to the end of this post, there was a lot in this one that I wanted to share. If you're interested in helping me out, go look through my print gallery and consider ordering a print. These little things help me continue my exploration into this world that is film photography. Thank you again everyone, see you in the next one!
