An Idea for a Project
Where I live, I have to take Old Spanish Road to get to work every day. Along the way, there is a wide array of fascinating landmarks as I make the drive. After some mental mapping, I decided to commit to taking shots of these landmarks and compiling them into a series showcasing OSR.
As it Developed
I was on my way to visit family in Dallas, and I started spotting similar places to what I saw on OSR, which made me reconsider what I was doing with this project. Why would I limit this to just OSR, when there are so many cool places all throughout Texas, hidden away on small country roads not traveled by people, unless they needed to. It was then I decided that this project would expand, and continue as I saw new places.
The Project Now
The images here are just the highlights of what I have been able to capture for the last few months, all of which are available for you to purchase for download or print. This is the beginning for a much bigger project I have in mind, so be on the lookout when that finally drops.
An Idea Became a Book
Lone Star Roads is now a BookThe idea hit me while I was working on this series, that it could become more than just an instagram series or a collection of prints on walls. Why not make it into something different, that people could look at again and again. Thus the idea of publishing a book of these images came to fruition.
An Ongoing Series
This series well continue well after this, it will continue to develop and flesh out as I get to travel more and more throughout the state. For now, every image you see in this BLOG post is available for purchase either as a download or a print through my gallery. Please help me sustain and develop projects like this by buying a download or print, every little bit helps.
